Cons: How can a profitable company not have a 401k match?

Pros: - Good salary, reasonable benefits. - There are some good people and teams here. Like most tech companies, it depends where you get hired into.

Cons: - Company runs on duct tape and hope, and blog post puffery. - Terrible onboarding process (failed completely, apparently that is expected). - Mentors not trained in any way: mine had one response to any question, "you'll figure it out." - Manager rarely attended 1:1s, zero guidance except what not to do. - Consistently cheap, happier to burn engineering time rather than pay for anything new. Comically bad at this. - Company lobbies employees very hard to vote for Cloudflare in the top-100 companies; doesn't actually care to solicit feedback on how it really is. - There are hopefully better teams, but mine was the least bonded I've ever encountered.

Pros: Good colleagues, unlimited paid time off, and a decent pension.

Cons: It feels like Cloudflare is getting worse day by day. The new leadership for product and infrastructure is bringing nothing but bad politics, moving teams around (as if it's going to solve core company problems), and overall turning Cloudflare into one of those evil big tech companies. I've seen people being let go for no real reason. The company would say it's a "restructure," but then post the same vacancy days after. The CEO, Matthew Prince, has no problem insulting us in the internal channels. He is way too involved. Everyone is burned out and tired. There is high turnover, which makes things very unstable. Constant changes in leadership (as in, they fire them and bring in "leaders" from other companies), priorities change constantly. Things are messy, and there's constant fire fighting. On-call is often stressful as a result. Salaries are not high, benefits are subpar, and they're struggling to hire the best talent. There are pockets of the company that have a toxic culture (for example, ETI - avoid like the plague). The pay increases are laughable.
