Applied online. The team lead reached out and scheduled a call.
During the call, they asked normal "book questions" (like "tell a war story," etc.) and didn't even bother to ask if I had any questions.
After the call, a take-home test was sent with open-ended requirements and a week's time. I submitted it in a couple of days.
I received an automated rejection email, despite completing all the requirements and implementing "brownie point" questions. No recruiter was involved in the process.
Furthermore, the team lead didn't even have the decency to reply to the conversation email thread, despite a candidate spending time on the take-home test.
In short, as others have mentioned, it didn't seem like the team has a good engineering culture or any respect for the candidate's time. Very unprofessional.
