I had a great experience with the actual engineers and everyone I spoke with. However, I had the worst experience with a recruiter that I have ever had, which completely overshadowed any positive impression I might have had of the company. She was rude and disrespectful at every step.

She ignored every email I sent asking very normal HR screening questions, such as:

• How many stages are there after this one?
• Just checking, the hiring manager I spoke with indicated some team members will be in Austin; will I be required to relocate?

During our single prep call, I asked her to repeat something she said because I didn’t hear her. She snapped at me and said no, and stated she would send this information in an email. Like, you really can’t repeat the sentence you literally just said? Not even once? Maybe if I asked two or three times and still wasn't hearing it, then sure. But seriously?

It felt like she was impatiently trying to end the call and get away from me. She also didn’t send the written materials she said she would, and then ignored my follow-up email asking for them.

After the onsite interview, I was rejected with a generic email. I then asked if feedback could be shared. She copy-pasted the same exact template and sent it again. She couldn’t be bothered to waste 30 seconds to type out “No, sorry we can’t, company policy,” which I completely understand is normal. Instead, she ignored my question completely.

I have never felt so completely brushed off and disrespected. Every single interaction, she gave off the energy that she was annoyed at me for wasting her time. Like, OK, I’m sorry for interviewing at your company… wow.

Cloudflare, please consider the whole candidate experience. This is a complete shame given the very positive interactions I had with everyone else, who were kind, thoughtful, and interesting to talk to. An awful experience just because of one person.
