The question itself wasn't hard, but I couldn't vibe with the interviewer. Below are a list of items that I found to be lacking:

  • Introductions: I know it feels great to list all your achievements and past internships, but please keep your intro about what you do in the company and how long you have been there. Otherwise, you risk alienating the interviewee, as they might feel they are not good enough to interview at your company (unless that was the plan all along, then keep it up).

  • Very Strict: Unable to laugh at jokes or comfort the interviewee when they are nervous or stressed. I know this isn't a comedy show, but it makes the interviewer seem human and the process less torturous.

  • Inattentive: Constantly browsing other tabs during the interview is very disrespectful to the interviewee. If you must do that, consider a phone call instead of video, as I would not be able to see what you are doing.

  • Interruptions: During the second part of the question, I was constantly being interrupted with questions or suggestions due to some miscommunications. Ideas are not fully formed at once, and I would appreciate the liberty to explore something a bit more before being interrupted with questions or suggestions, leading me to run out of time.

  • Starved for Time: He seemed upset during the interview as if he needed to be somewhere else. I don't really blame him for that, though; they are probably working him to death.

In conclusion, Coinbase is probably not the place for people like me who value an environment with work-life balance (if you don't value WLB, then disregard this review). I would definitely interview again, as it is great practice for the companies I actually want to join.
