Chatted and met with handful of engineers who said the company was really cool; got in touch with a recruiter thereafter. We chatted and they offered to put me in the process for an opening coming up. Correspondence with the recruiters was fairly good, sometimes a bit delayed and other times slips in communications, but understandable as the company is growing rapidly and sourcing many candidates.
First interview, video call, was a fairly straightforward problem. They test on coding as well as engineer interpersonal skills (explanations, clarifications, trade-offs, articulation). Interviewer was great; said I could forward anymore questions that I might have. Next interview was behavioral: basic "Have you worked with x technology?", "Describe to me y?", "Why Coinbase?", etc. Really nice interviewer too, left opportunity for questions after, too.
Next interview with engineer on team was slightly more challenging and specific to the role/tech applied for. More pointed technical questions while building a specific feature was given. Overall pleasant, much more interesting and applicable than straight algorithm problems.
Overall nice experience! But very, very slow process.
