Process

Terrible experience with Comcast, and this is the second time.

In 2017, I interviewed with Comcast. I went through all the interviews for a month, and HR called me two months later to extend an offer. Two days after that, the representative called, informing me that they cannot sponsor H-1B for this position.

Three years later, I applied for a position in September 2020. I clearly asked the recruiter if this position could sponsor H-1B, and she said, "Yes, absolutely we can sponsor." Once again, I cleared all rounds of interviews, and the recruiter was about to extend an offer. And guess what? I just got a call from the recruiter this morning, and she said, "Unfortunately, we do not have the budget to sponsor."

If they cannot sponsor, why would they waste the interviewers' and the candidates' time? The budget should be discussed before opening the position itself. I cannot understand how their hiring process works. It is extremely frustrating.

If you need sponsorship, I strongly suggest DO NOT apply at Comcast and waste your time.
