Software Engineer Interview Experience - Seattle, Washington

Process

Details in the job listing had little to do with software development tools/process, but it was still marked as "software engineer internship." I applied and got an on-campus interview in November 2016. There were two 30-minute interviews: one technical and one behavioral from HR.

There were two engineers at the technical interview who gave me literally FizzBuzz and asked me what a hashmap was, then some small debugging questions in C. No standard data structures/algorithm codings were involved.

For the behavioral interview, the HR lady asked me the normal "What is your greatest strength and weakness?" and "Why do you like our company?"

Overall, the interview process was weird and non-challenging; there was very little technical differentiation involved. It felt more like a corporate formality.
