Software Engineer I Interview Experience - United States

Process

The first step after the application was an online assessment (OA) taken from Hackerrank. The interview process, after passing the OA, consisted of an initial phone screen with one coding problem. The final rounds comprised one technical round and one behavioral round.

The interviews and interviewers were very nice and easy to communicate with. I had a good time during the interviews.

However, the HR management and decision release process seemed disorganized. They initially stated that a decision would be released in approximately one week. After following up due to not receiving it, they revised the timeline, saying it would be ready the following week. Upon following up once more, as I still hadn't heard back, the decision was pushed to the next week again.

Consequently, I decided to accept an offer from another company due to the unprofessional after-interview handling by the HR department.

I have applied to Confluent twice and was able to reach the final rounds both times. I can tell you that this is how they handle things, as they kept pushing things back during my first attempt as well. Not to mention, I have now started my new position while still having not heard back from them.
