The only good thing that remains is the wellbeing budget and being able to keep a good work-life balance by being remote (currently ex-Hotjar and some selected Contentsquare employees only; new employees will have to work on a hybrid model).
Where to start...
This company bought Hotjar just to eliminate the competition and get its customer base. They destroyed everything Hotjar was as a company and its product (it is being absorbed into Contentsquare). They laid off many of its employees, and those who are left are leaving every day. There is a mass exodus, and management just doesn't care because this was the plan all along: to reduce the headcount in order to get more profits and put more pressure on the ones who don't have a choice but to stay.
What did they expect when they removed most of the perks, reduced paid leave, and changed from the Hotjar global to local salary bands? They froze the salaries and any possibility of career progression for people living in "low cost of living" countries. The local salary bands are ridiculously low. If people chose to work remotely for a global company, obviously they don't want to get paid the same as the local market.
Management doesn't have a strategy or clue of what they are doing, relying only on the current ex-Hotjar employees to drive things forward. So let's see where this will take them when the rest of them leave.
Company culture is toxic, full of corporate bureaucracy, pressure, and micromanagement.
No advice. This is the Contensquare culture, and it's rooted. They are at a point of no return. They refused to accept the feedback after the merger, standing by their decisions. Want some advice? Look back at Hotjar and why it was one of the best companies to work for in this industry.
There was a recruiter interview explaining the different roles and ContentSquare in general, and then a tech interview with a manager. The recruiter and the interviewer were nice, but I got no response after more than two weeks, which is unacceptabl
I applied for the position via the website, and HR reached out to me. The process was: * HR discussion * Managerial Round * LeetCode coding (Medium) + Technical questions on improving the approach * System Design interview * Final round w
The interview process was clear, and decisions for each round were quick. All interviewers were friendly, nice, and professional. The interview felt like a two-way conversation, allowing both parties to learn about each other.
