Hard job physically. Don't get promoted based on work ethic, but on years at the company.
Some higher-level management should not have made it up the ladder. Some managers are amazing, and some are dismissive and terrible listeners. Perhaps it would be helpful to get co-workers' input before promoting, or the input of the people who work under them.
