My coworkers were the only thing that got me through this job without losing my sanity.
Supervisors and management do not care about you. They boss you around like you are nothing. You work your butt off and still get criticized. Management knew I had scoliosis and had ongoing issues with my back, and they continued to send me out to push carts. I am a tiny female, 5ft, 110lbs. I finally got a doctor's note, and they said it wasn't specific enough. They STILL continued to send me out on carts on a regular basis. This was not the position I was hired for. They would send me out to push carts for an entire 8-hour shift. As a new employee, you get stuck doing the work nobody else wants to do. Coworkers gossip; watch your back. It's like being in high school all over again. You get stuck working the busiest, most stressful weekend shifts. If you can mentally and physically handle it, and don't mind getting paid $15/hr, then it's a great place to work! Or, if you are over 50 years old, they treat you like royalty. There is major favoritism by upper management. Not paid nearly enough.
Treat your employees how you would want to be treated. A little respect can go a long way.
I could probably sue Costco for how they blatantly disregarded my medical restrictions. I was basically forced to quit because I physically couldn't handle pushing carts anymore. They did not care about my medical restrictions.
Discuss past work history and previous experience in customer service. You will get a second interview where they will ask your availability and give you a mouth swab drug test right in the office at the warehouse, so don't smoke before going in for
The interview process includes typical retail experience questions and scenario-based questions and answers. It is dependent on the warehouse, but it typically involves the candidate and the department manager. Overall, a fairly simple process.
Easy. Straightforward. Just like any other company. Asked a few questions about your job history and how you work with others. Then told me I should hear back in a couple days.
