They are extremely strict when they want to be. They have the employee handbook that is written very craftily to write you up, suspend you, or demote you when they want. They will crush you with impunity and play it off like they are just following procedure. If you don't act submissive and comply with the unwritten dogma of doing what they “expect” (which they won't tell you), you will be sandbagged with policies you didn't know existed, resulting in disciplinary action.
Advice for management? Ha! They don’t want to hear it. They have a successful business model, and they won’t bend, flex, or change.
