Humiliating tryouts for seasonal associates to become full-time

Pros

The only reason you will want to stay and become full-time is if other low-level employees become your friends during the tryout process, but the job itself is not a good reason to stay. Do yourself a favor: get the contact information of your friends and get the hell out of that dead-end job where they will overwork you without any gratitude, without any opportunity for advancement, promotion, or salary increase.

Cons

The full-time position is treated as so "prestigious," and only the "best of the best" will become full-time employees earning minimum wage.

A seasonal job that's not a livable wage and a Costco member card as an employee benefit that can't be used with the low salary is a joke. Plus, there won't be many hours to work during non-holiday months.

There is no reason to treat the front-end associate and low-level positions as prestigious the way they do.

Advice to Management

Stop the tryout process and just hire full-time employees.
