Software Engineer Interview Experience - Mountain View, California

Process

The standard interview process consisted of four rounds: three technical and one HR. The technical interviewers were not open to discussing my approach, preferring to focus solely on the solution. Furthermore, the interviewer was constantly on their laptop. When I attempted to engage in a discussion about my approach or any other aspect, there was no response.

At the end of two interviews, I was informed that the interview process would not continue due to negative feedback. This was not the end of the situation. The very next morning, I received an email from HR stating, "I am in the process of doing a quick review meeting on your assessment in your onsite interview last week from the panel. I will keep you posted if there is a change in our decision. Let me know if you have any further questions."

What?! I find it hard to believe that employees within the company are unsure about their decisions and that candidates are removed from the interview process after only two rounds. It's good that I received a rejection, as I would have declined an offer from them anyway if the decision had been reversed. I recommend that others think twice before applying to Coupang.
