Management is often unavailable, which isn't always negative if you enjoy your autonomy.
It would be nice if there were more "road maps" or materials that allow employees across departments to be on the same page. It sometimes feels like management expects messages, ideals, and standards to be implicit, when in reality, they are poorly communicated. It seems like we are working on this with our "stretch goals."
