Process

The interview was a panel consisting of the main interviewer, team lead, and manager.

The main interviewer and team lead were on time and introduced themselves while giving a brief overview of what was expected.

Roughly 15 minutes into the interview, the manager joined and introduced himself. He began asking a few questions back to back. Any attempt to answer the asked questions was met with a "please let me finish."

After he completed asking his questions, I proceeded to start answering them in order. After about two answers, he interrupted me and said he had another meeting to attend, but he would stay on the call and proceeded to put on headphones.

During that whole process, the other two panelists looked rather awkward and did not seem to know what was going on.

After that little hiccup, the interview continued. The interviewer was awesome, responsive, and willing to have questions asked.

For the most part, the team lead was rather quiet until the very end.

This interview was for an entry-level front-end position. The team lead all of a sudden started asking questions regarding CAP theorems as well as load balancing.

Of course, at this point, I had no clue what he was referring to or even how to begin to answer.

So the rest of the interview went poorly due to these questions that seemed to be more back-end developer questions.

Anyways, a week later, I received feedback from the interview. The manager commented that I was not answering basic questions and did not know my material.

The team lead also left feedback stating that I did not know basic front-end material, such as load balancing.

Questions

Asked questions regarding React Hooks, as well as a few personality questions.
