Process

I was contacted for an initial phone screening. The day after the phone interview, I was contacted to interview face-to-face. The recruiter actually wanted to schedule me for the next day, and I told him I needed a few more days. The interview was informal, and it appeared that they had not even looked at my resume before the interview.

Two and a half weeks after the interview, I was contacted via phone by one of the supervisors I initially interviewed with. She stated that her district director was in town and asked if I could come in the same day for an interview. I was unable to accommodate such short notice and asked about the following day. The director was leaving town the next day, so I was told that would not work. I agreed to a phone interview the same day instead. She asked me what times were convenient for the call and scheduled me for a phone interview for the same day.

I never received a phone call. I sent a follow-up email that evening and didn't receive a response. No apology—nothing.

It's possible that the director was put off because I could not accommodate her last-minute, same-day request. So they moved on to the next candidate who could. I received a rejection email 5 days later.

I rated it negative because they were obviously not on the same page in regard to candidates. It would be nice if hiring managers and supervisors would review the resumes and credentials of candidates before wasting our time for a face-to-face interview. The recruiters obviously aren't doing their jobs in that area. They were also unprofessional and inconsiderate with the scheduling of interviews.

It is upsetting because, although I was very interested in the job, I had written it off—until she called for the second interview that never happened.
