This role is misleading. The title states "Sr Software Engineer," but it's really a full-stack position. You will discover this during the second round.
First round: general discussion with recruiter Second round: pair-programming in Spring Boot microservice Third round: pair-programming for an Angular component.
Second-round: Interviewer had told me that she didn't receive my full resume, which is laughable, considering that I attached my resume when I applied and someone could have checked beforehand. Instead, the interviewer decided to make a judgment based on how the interview went.
The interviewer started coding in Kotlin without telling me. I had never used Kotlin before, and the job title stated Java. The interviewer kept fixing the code to get Spring Boot to run without exceptions due to Kotlin barriers. I had to type in code in the chat in Java for the interviewer to write the same code in Kotlin. It was a very messy experience.
After this round, they decided to consider me for a Junior-level role that pays a little less. I had told them I have significant UI experience in my past career, which made no difference. Basically, they insulted my knowledge and experience.
Third-round: Was supposed to be pairing for Angular coding. On the day of the interview, the internal recruiter asked me if I could set up my local environment by installing an IDE, setting up Angular CLI, etc. At that point, I declined to continue forward.
Second-round:
Code a Spring Boot app and show unit testing capabilities.
