Cons

After having to complete a lengthy job application, you're required to record a video of yourself answering screening questions as an additional step of the application process. It is a painful process that requires multiple takes to get a version you can stomach, let alone something you’d share with a potential employer.

Adding this extra step is touted as a strategy to increase efficiency and save recruiters time, but from my perspective, it is just another opportunity for even more bias and discrimination to be added to the hiring process.

Also, CVS Health may be able to use, sell, or distribute your image, video, or likeness in any way they see fit. There is no transparency in how they can use your image, video, or likeness or how long they will keep them.

What they also aren't transparent about is if an actual person does the initial review, if an AI does it, or if AI is involved in any part of the hiring process. It has been well-documented that some AIs have a built-in bias because the humans who develop or code them can add their implicit biases.

Advice to Management

Get rid of the pre-recorded videos.
