The recruiter was barely responsive and copy-pasted a generic, rambling email after the initial call. The interviewer asked an average problem that I didn't have an issue solving. I was rejected with no feedback, despite receiving offers from companies more competitive than Databricks.
Overall impressions:
- Lack of value in communication.
- General philosophy of optimizing for the local maximum rather than the global maximum.
- Lack of value in culture (the recruiter's entire pitch for joining Databricks was around how much funding they'd secured).
