The interview process was intense, involving four one-hour interviews following a short HackerRank test. Concerning the HackerRank test itself, the actual test was significantly easier than the practice one, which could be confusing.
I had four face-to-face interviews:
Coding and Design were live tests requiring me to solve code and architecture problems, respectively. LeetCode is a good resource for practicing coding problems, while YouTube, GeeksforGeeks, or similar platforms can help with design.
The last two interviews were open discussions about my past experiences and work style.
I encountered very nice and skilled people throughout the process. A dedicated HR representative supported me at every stage. The ability to access HR's calendar was highly convenient.
After the interviews concluded positively, I met with several people to ensure the proposed job offer was suitable. They conducted an additional design interview before final validation. Due to the vacation period, this slightly extended the overall process.
However, the interview scheduling was efficient, and feedback was provided very quickly (within 48 hours).
Code questions are really similar to what you can find on LeetCode.
My first design question was on building a CI/CD process. I think I misunderstood the real objective, which led them to ask me for a second design interview. In that interview, I was asked to design the Reddit Pixel War system (r/place), a quite original question compared to the usual "how do you design Twitter/Netflix/Bitly?"
In system and hiring interviews, I was asked to speak about systems I set up in my career, the difficulties I faced, how I managed scaling, etc.
