I applied online and passed an initial coding test using CoderPad. I then spent approximately 8 hours on a homework assignment. This was followed by a full day that included another coding interview, a design interview, an HR culture/behavioral assessment, and a final interview with a department head.
I had several telephone calls with the recruiter, though she often seemed forgetful and didn't provide much worthwhile information.
In hindsight, I made a couple of mistakes:
I never received any feedback from the recruiter regarding the final interviews, detailing any shortcomings or areas for improvement. The feedback on my homework was positive but vague, stating the results were incorrect without concrete counterexamples. All of this was communicated over the phone.
Overall, I got the impression that the company is too enamored with its speculative market capitalization and can be downright pretentious on many levels. I did enjoy the HR interview, however. We spent about an hour discussing web crawlers, ways to bypass Cloudflare, and circumvent bot detection. The interviewer seemed more down-to-earth, sharing some of my aspirations for remote work and a better quality of life.
