Software Engineer Interview Experience - New York, New York

March 1, 2016
Positive ExperienceNo Offer

Process

The interview process was fairly straightforward, consisting of:

  • A technical phone screen.
  • A half-day on-site to meet with more of the team and founders.
  • An informal lunch with the team.

The technical interviews were not in the vein of "Cracking the Coding Interview." Instead, they were much more practical, clearly aiming to observe how you would solve the types of problems the team has solved (and continues to solve).

The whole process took an exorbitantly long time.

Ultimately, I was not extended an offer because they couldn't find a fit for me on any of the existing teams. I wish they had discovered this sooner to avoid wasting much of my time (and theirs).

Questions
