Software Engineer Interview Experience

Process

The recruiter reached out to me on LinkedIn first. She kept rescheduling our appointment, and over half a month later, we finally talked on the phone. The conversation was quick, and I received a follow-up message from her literally just saying, "Your phone and resume, please," which sounded rude.

The overall experience was passive and made me not want to move forward with Datadog.

Suggestions for the recruiter:

  1. Respect the candidate's time, especially when you reached out first.
  2. Do your research before the conversation and save our time. I would have been happy to send my resume if you had asked earlier.
  3. Be professional and write emails/messages in business language.
