Quickly growing company with a great product.
Fair compensation and benefits.
Lack of a proper engineering career path - There are not many engineering levels, which means that there are Senior Software Engineers with a difference of 10+ years of experience, all with the same title. Getting promoted to a Staff Engineering level can be extremely difficult compared to other companies.
Not remote-friendly - While they do hire for remote roles, much of the engineering teams are office-based, and it can be difficult to integrate as a remote engineer.
Lots of junior engineers - The ratio of junior to more senior engineers is far greater than in many other places where I have worked. I have to do a bit more hand-holding at Datadog.
The overall interview process is pretty mature and good overall. The recruiter who reached out to me was mixing formal and informal approaches very well (shout out to Babatunde!). They professionally handled the initial call and the aftermath call wh
Straightforward tech process with DSA and system design questions. Datadog likes to ask questions that have some link to their products. Brush up on logs indexing, for example. System design questions are more general.
The whole process was well done and structured. I didn't make it to the end as I was competing with someone who was a better fit. They asked me to re-apply in the future.
