Pros

Great product, great engineering peers, and great culture. From an engineering standpoint, this is a great place to be. It's gratifying to see the company grow at such a rapid clip.

Execs have also demonstrated that they actually care for employee well-being as well as social causes, while still focusing on keeping the business successful. Great job, execs.

Cons

Immature, low-level management is pervasive.

While the execs have tried to bring transparency to career development, line management will impose their own requirements to be evasive. There's a lot of work, and if you show initiative and progress, your natural expectation of being appreciated will be squashed.

Very low diversity, even in engineering. Women tend to leave at a much faster clip.

Advice to Management

You already have internal surveys demonstrating declining employee recognition scores by tenure. Have you considered that low-level managers and team leads are not capable or willing to appreciate the engineers they are managing?
