Other engineers are smart, and you'll learn a lot (at least as an intern).
Interns are integrated into the team and considered like full-time employees, which means you get really interesting stuff to do as well as responsibilities.
I'm not a NYC fan. But I guess this won't be a problem for a lot of people :)
