Senior Front End Developer Interview Experience - Emea, Europe, Middle East and Africa
Process
The recruiter did a great job. They answered all my questions and provided feedback at every stage. We had a lot of communication during the process, which I appreciated.
However, I was very disappointed with the live technical challenge. It had four parts:
- Technical questions
- Design systems
- React debugging
- A TypeScript problem
I believe I did well in all parts except the TypeScript task. Still, I was rejected because they said I needed too much guidance on the React problem. In reality, the interview was in a pair programming format, where collaboration and idea-sharing are expected. This felt contradictory.
I was very enthusiastic because the interviewer told me I did a great job, but I was rejected two days later, as the pair programming dynamic was not actually expected to be pair programming. I really wanted to be part of Deel, so this feedback felt very contradictory and unexpected.
