Cleared all 3 rounds. No offer.
1st round: A typical Express/Node.js task. They mentioned it should take 3 hours, but to truly pass this round, you need to spend more time on it.
2nd round: Technical discussion around database concurrency and other technical topics, primarily focused on databases and Node.js. The interviewers were knowledgeable, and I enjoyed talking with them.
3rd round: Behavioral interview, focusing on past experiences and how you handled difficult situations.
I had cleared all three rounds, but in the end, they rejected me, stating they selected someone with more 'domain knowledge'.
I asked for proper feedback so I could identify areas for improvement. I received a feedback call invitation 15 days later. Their feedback was, 'Since you are excited to learn new stuff and we work on pre-decided tech, you don't seem like you would enjoy it.' This felt like a roundabout way of rejecting someone without appearing suspicious.
How can you handle concurrency in an API?
