Position: DevOps Lead
A tasteless and disrespectful process. I received an in-person invite for Managerial and Architectural rounds at the Bengaluru office for 2:00 PM.
I reached the location 15 minutes prior and completed formalities. At 2:10 PM, someone escorted me to the interview place.
The Sr. Manager showed up at 2:25 PM, with everything set up to kick off.
Question: What is your current role and day-to-day activities? Answered.
Question 2: What do you do as part of your current role on a daily basis? Answered.
Another interviewer joined the room and started scrolling through their phone. After one minute of silence, Interviewer 1 asked Interviewer 2 some questions. Interviewer 2 asked the first question, and before I could answer, Interviewer 1 (whose team I was supposed to join) went for lunch (at 2:35 PM).
Interviewer 2 asked a few more questions, such as how the DB is implemented. Since I am part of the DB organization, I clarified that I am not from the DB team, but he insisted, saying that since I am from organization X, I must know DB. After one more question, he went out to search for someone (at 2:40 PM). He came back at 2:45 PM and said the process was over and they would get back.
So, technically, it was a 20-minute interview in total, for which I traveled for 1.5 hours, just because they hadn't had their lunch and wrapped things up. All this time, their behavior was as if I had self-invited myself for the interview. There was no respect for others' time or even the person.
