I was told there would be two rounds of technical interviews, followed by a director and HR round.
Round 1: Pair programming with a TDD test on simple questions, such as implementing an unordered set.
Round 2: This was a very strange round. A team member was paired with me. They had an ongoing project in Python, and I was asked to contribute to one of the stories. Please note, I did not have Python skills. Anyway, it was a 2.5-hour interview, and I completed it with Google's help. The questions were simple, like implementing server-side session management. I seriously wondered why they shortlisted my profile and made me go through a 2.5-hour boring interview when my profile was not a good fit for them.
Overall, I had a very negative experience. The peers seemed below par; their pace was extremely slow, and they didn't seem knowledgeable enough. I had very positive expectations given all the buzz about EMC.
Better skilled, highly ambitious candidates should stay away from this company.
