I received a call from the recruiter without notice at 6:30 in the morning (since I live in Arizona). I did not answer, thinking it was a spam call. There was a voicemail with his name and number.

He did email me with his details after I did not answer. I responded to the email and also called back the same day, but received no response.

I emailed the recruiter again for the second time, with no response.

I do not know if I would have gotten the job or not, but it left me wondering how things would have been if I had answered the call.

This is not a lottery; you reject a person after talking to them, not because they did not answer a phone call.
