After gauging my interest over the phone, the hiring manager set up a day of interviews. I interviewed with the hiring manager, the architect, and three other software engineers.
They didn't ask any stupid questions or request whiteboard coding. Instead, they asked for general solutions to problems or how I would design a system for x, y, and z. That was refreshing.
I enjoyed the interview and they extended an offer a few days later.

They didn't ask any hard questions per se, but wanted to see how I would propose to handle certain problems or issues with large-scale software projects.
