I had my interview on December 9th, and then received the classic holiday pause email. I understood completely – everyone needs a break.
However, when January rolled around, it turned into a strange game of "we'll tell you next week" that kept stretching on.
I finally received the "thanks but no thanks" email on January 22nd, a full six weeks after my interview.
The Actual Experience:
Bottom line: Dell is a large company, and yes, things move slowly. But stringing candidates along for a month and a half is not ideal. If you are interviewing here, know that you might need the patience of a saint, and perhaps don't put your job search on hold waiting for them.
Advice to Dell: Either speed up your process or be upfront about how long it actually takes. Six weeks to say "no" is rough on candidates who are actively job hunting.
