Extraordinary benefits! All benefits are the best I've had in my 30+ year career. Work/life balance was excellent.
Dell changed its personality completely.
Pre-pandemic, it was the best company I have worked at in my career. After the pandemic, employees were reluctant to return to the office. Their work/life balance and productivity were far better while working at home. Expenses were lower.
Then it changed.
Mandated back to the office, even if you had to travel a full hour each way. Remote employees were targeted for layoffs, and other factors like age were also considered.
Dell put everything into the "AI basket" and ignored critical business needs, putting the company at risk.
You are losing your best talent and shutting the door on a wide base of new talent because you restrict hiring to Dell locations.
You sacrificed many things to reach your goal of under 100K employees by the end of the fiscal year.
You proved that employees are not viewed as the most important people; board members and stockholders are.
Michael Dell selling millions of shares right after the layoffs is not a good look.
The HR lead the interview, and it was very friendly. Subsequently, I was interviewed by future teammates, which was good because I got to see the team's culture at that time. The final interview was with the hiring manager.
Pretty easy 1 DSA question. That's all. LeetCode medium and very internal details about databases in general. Previous company questions and architecture details about company software. Pretty easy managerial round.
The interviewer was incredibly friendly and kind. The process was easy to set up, and she was very informed and able to answer all of my questions. I enjoyed being able to have the supportive environment.
