Pros

Low-stress environment. Schedules can slip; projects can change. Ability to make changes and improve processes.

Cons

Low pay, no benefits, no guarantee of work, and not likely to ever go permanent. If you are good, the contract will get extended multiple times, up to 3 years to 3.5 years. Great work/life balance.

Advice to Management

Do the right thing and hire permanent employees so you are not constantly training, not losing so much intellectual property and innovation, and to get loyalty and pride from your workers.
