Pros

Flexible working hours, a decent bonus, and decent cash incentives (especially if you manage to keep on getting the cash incentive bonus every year).

Cons

Very hard to transfer. As soon as you apply for an internal position, your manager will be notified right away. You will then have to talk to your manager, and you still don't know if you even get a chance to interview for the new job.

They will tell you it's hard to get promoted until you see that people are promoted left and right (by looking at their title and grade level, which is available by just clicking on their email addresses). Depending on what they want from you, they will promote completely inexperienced people to program manager/project manager, which just makes life intolerable for people who have to put up with managers who do not even know what NRE cost stands for.

Advice to Management

Stop playing games. We engineers talk, and we know the game.
