- Product company (as opposed to outsource)
- Easy availability of internal cloud resources
- The only option for the workstation/laptop is Windows, even for developers, which definitely sucks!
- Dependency on Windows products
- Sluggish and often inadequate IT support
Please push through the ability for employees to work on Linux workstations.
Dell definitely loses a lot of money on developers spending time setting up complex Linux VM dev environments, which are latent and depend on VPN availability. The developers' productivity and efficiency sags considerably.
I spent almost 3 months finding the most efficient way of setting it up, and it is still way less efficient than having Linux on one's workstation.
