Poor training and development opportunities. It's difficult to change jobs laterally or move to new areas. Promotions are infrequent. There's cronyism among certain teams. Poor work-life balance makes it hard to unplug during personal time and vacations. Geographically dispersed teams mean some late-night or early-morning conference calls.
Encourage and support (fund) career development, training, and certifications for all team members, not just the top players.
Don't burn out employees with death marches that last more than a week at a time. Respect employees' personal and family time.
