The pay is competitive, but it's becoming less and less relevant.
As the Dell machine takes huge bites out of the EMC culture, bonuses have been cut from once a quarter to once a year and are being decreased by half. Pay raises are negligible (2%) and now we can't carry over personal or vacation days. Perks for people that travel are being erased to the point of Architects bailing at an alarming rate.
Health benefits are being cut as well this year. I assume if you're used to Mr. Dell's heavy-handedness, you're fine, but anyone who is legacy EMC is being screwed.
