Pros

Nothing really to say. Some of the co-workers are pretty cool. That is about it.

Cons

I worked in the Austin office for about a year. Dell is inarguably one of the most notorious companies to work for. The client laptop and PC division was crumbling at that time, and morale was low.

Arguments and fights between co-workers were common, as was gossip. Even outsiders in the Austin area knew Dell was a "rough place" to work.

In large corporations, a certain amount of politics does exist to some degree, and Dell is no exception. However, politics had run its course even at the lowest engineering level; therefore, you constantly worked to solve interpersonal issues and rarely worked on technical stuff.

Firing is common. When people are terminated, the company directory displays them as "terminated," dragging the terminated employee through the mud.

Advice to Management

The place is so screwed up, there is no point in giving advice.
