Lots of work, and a great place to learn. Lots of opportunity is provided to learn new things. New initiatives are encouraged, and efforts are well rewarded.
Work-life balance is a downside. Since there is a lot of work and the work is extremely time-bound, work-life balance is a mammoth task.
You can make this place more employee-friendly. Most of the time, the environment is very serious, and there is absolutely no chance for fun.
