I got a call from Deloitte HR in Nov 2020. The role was of ETL and Selenium automation tester.
I received a mail for an online assessment one week later. It covered Java, DB, Selenium, and testing concepts.
I cleared it and got a call for the first round of the interview one week later. I was asked about testing concepts, Selenium, testing concepts, and SQL.
I cleared it and got a call for the second round 4 days later. In this round, they asked about manual testing questions, which was not even mentioned on my CV. Moreover, the interviewer told me that the role was a manual testing role and that they would think of automating it 2-3 years later. However, the JD had no mention of manual testing.
First round: Joins, rank
Annotations, priority, dependsOn, dynamic XPath, data provider, frameworks, my current project, POM, utility class, property file, DB connection in Selenium, Java program on reversing a string without using the reverse function, types of testing, black box vs. UAT testing, verification vs. validation, API testing questions on HTTP status codes, authentication vs. authorization, what all tests I have done.
Second round: Cross join scenario, browser compatibility testing vs. cross-browser testing, how to check data of 5000 rows between DB and a website (no download/export option), tell me about some ETL errors, 3-4 scenario-based questions on writing test cases, what to do when we cannot reproduce bugs, regression vs. sanity testing.
