I have never seen such a worst interview process in my 8 years of experience. I received a call and they took all the basic details. As I already had another offer, I stated the offer amount, and they agreed.
So I went for the interview that Saturday and reached Deloitte at 10 am. At the security gate, there was a big queue; it took half an hour to collect a temporary ID card, and then I entered. I was waiting for the first round from 10:30 am. Finally, I was called at 1 pm, and it lasted half an hour. They asked me to wait outside, and after half an hour, one lady came and asked me to wait for the second round.
Finally, I was called at 4 pm for the second round, and it lasted 30 to 40 minutes. They told me I was selected for the final round and asked me to wait for it. I thought, as it's the manager round, it might not take much time, so I was waiting until 7:00 pm.
Everyone left, including the recruitment team, except for 5 candidates who were selected for the manager round and a couple of HR department members. Around 7 pm, HR came and said, "We don't have panels available; please leave for the day. We will call on Tuesday." So I left with some disappointment.
I got a call on Tuesday and had the manager round. It lasted half an hour, and I got selected. The HR department asked for documents, and I sent them the same day. She said I'd get an HR discussion call on Monday at 7 pm. I was waiting for her call on Monday, but I didn't get any call. So I sent her an email; she said, "Apologies, I will call you tomorrow at 2:00 pm." Again, I was waiting on Tuesday; there was no call, and I sent an email. She said, "We are in ad-hoc meetings; we will call you sometime."
Finally, I got a call on Wednesday night around 9:00 pm, and he started negotiating. Finally, I said, "As I already have this much offer, I asked them to at least match it." But he said, "We don't have that much budget," and stated, "We will give a maximum of this much," which was equal to my current package. I said no and dropped out.
As I said before, I stated my expectations when attending the interview, which they agreed to, but finally said no. I am totally disappointed.
They covered all the topics and internal implementation.
