Pros
  • Fully remote.
  • More hands to keyboard if you’re a SWE in the product track.
  • Can learn a lot in a short period of time.
Cons

Emphasis on getting things done fast rather than right.

Experience and tech stack will highly vary from team to team. Some may have robust CI/CD and dev environments using relevant tech stacks like React, Next.js, Node, FastAPI, etc., but others may be using low-code/no-code solutions.

Teams are often small, so you'll likely have to wear many hats, which provides a lot of learning opportunities but can also be stressful.

Pay is low compared to other industries, especially in the product track, and you don't get bonuses until you are a Consultant.
