Sorry, no pros. Just cons. It's impossible for this company to have something positive.
You feel like the last priority of Deloitte is your employees. Everything is more important than you, even an old bookshelf. There are dozens, dozens of policies that you need to follow because everything is important, but you, the employee. The hiring process can make you feel like a child, a rapist! They want to surround you as much as possible with plenty of proof that you are someone reliable. Dozens, dozens, and dozens of checks about you! References for your last 5 years, criminal checks... everything you can imagine they will ask. Totally unusual in UK culture for IT professionals. Why? Because you are and never will be important to Deloitte! Everything always will be more important than you. They reached a point to request documents from my country of origin, where the requirement for this for job purposes is a criminal offense. I started to lose my patience and began to make jokes with the recruitment department, asking questions like, "Who will be the client for this job? NSA or MI5? Do you need a blood sample to check my DNA?" And after being hired, nobody cares about you because the way Deloitte cares about its resources is very bad. You will literally feel like an animal. I canceled my contract on my own.
Good advice? Your resources MUST be your main assets. Your resources are not bacteria, okay?
By the way, bear in mind that you are talking about the LONDON MARKET. In London, developers choose the companies, not the companies choose the developers. A developer accepting to work for someone is almost a favor! They treat us like kings!
Your behavior, like "I'm the hottest girl in the pub, so I can choose any man, anytime, because everybody wants to kiss me," does not work in London. You are not special for the London Market. Your behavior could be suitable for a third-world country where the unemployment rate is very high and people accept any kind of disrespectful act just for an opportunity!
In London, developers are rock stars! I left Deloitte for good because I can start anywhere else after two or three phone calls, not because I'm a good developer. Just because I'm a regular developer serving the London Market, and there are many more opportunities here than people to fill them.
Resume Shortlisting Based on skills, experience, and role fit. Online Assessment Aptitude (quant, logical, verbal) Technical/coding test (for tech roles) Technical Interview Core concepts, problem-solving, tech stack (e.g., React, Node, SQL) Pro
They never explain you or provide any sort of information which might help you in the interview rounds. For example, I was never given any info on what the first or the second round of interview would be based on. My experience was overall average.
I applied through the careers page, then a recruiter emailed me and scheduled the interview. There were two rounds. * The first round had conceptual and debugging questions related to JS, ReactJS, HTML, and CSS, and one easy-level coding problem.
