Cons

You are a number. You could pull the company in a half million dollars, and you are still a number.

I will never work for another company that lays off 20% of its staff during COVID. It’s not like we weren’t working 60-hour weeks on a multi-million dollar project, being extremely profitable to the company.

You know, you can give anything you want to a company like this, literally your firstborn baby, and they wouldn’t care. They treat their employees like numbers.

At the end of the day, your achievements mean nothing and grant you no job security. You can be laid off at any point they feel good to do so. They even give you 24 hours to leave the firm, so no knowledge transfer, even though I’m one of the original developers on a toolset they bought.

Smart move, lol. I guess some cheap labor in India can replace us USA workers since they are ramping up hiring in India.

Advice to Management

It can change your whole view on a company. People are not numbers that you just lay off. I hope the crimes of your managers get handled someday, because you are bleeding extremely good talent. Even in my time there, I’ve seen 5-star employees literally be pushed into the ground since people are very easily replaceable.

80-hour week. No overtime pay or benefits, travel 100%. How can you do this to people? Make them give their whole life to a company and treat them like a number at the end of the day.
