The interview process involved a recruiter screen, followed by a hiring manager screen. If the hiring manager screen was cleared, there would be a seven-round onsite interview.
I had a really bad experience with Discord. The hiring manager rescheduled multiple times, with each reschedule occurring one day before the interview. This showed a complete disregard for the interviewee's time.
On the day of the interview, the hiring manager showed up a few minutes late. After some awkward pleasantries, they asked questions around project execution and time management.
When it was my turn to ask questions, there was a total lack of engagement from the hiring manager. Responses were terse, often one word or a single sentence. I spent more time framing my questions than they took to answer them. I attempted to engage them in a conversation, but received only lukewarm responses.
Perhaps they had already decided not to move forward, but they made me feel like I was wasting their time. I didn't hear back for several weeks and had to follow up with multiple people multiple times to get a response, which I had already anticipated.
I am happy I didn't have to waste more of my time and energy on their seven-round onsite interview. I would advise others not to waste their time and energy here.
Based on project execution and time management.
