A recruiter reached out to me. We proceeded to schedule an interview for the following week via email. During the interview, we discussed the role, my background, and how they aligned. The recruiter then informed me that I was missing firsthand app development experience on my resume and, therefore, would not be considered.
I remain unsure why I was contacted and interviewed when the recruiter was aware that software development experience was not listed on my resume and my previous positions were not aligned to it.
The interview felt like a waste of time for both of us. After she rejected me on the call, I never heard from her again.
She stated that the specific experience was extremely important to the hiring manager and team and then ended the call. I wasn't even given the opportunity to ask questions pertaining to the position; she ended the call abruptly.
Clearly, the recruiter scheduled the interview simply because I marked "referral" and did not review my resume. What a waste.
