Culture is very conservative, stuck in a 1950s mindset. The culture is not adaptable and there are too many gatekeepers at the middle management/director level who are resistant to change.
Disney has one of the most powerful brands of storytelling, which is based on fantasy and an illusion to make you feel or believe something about the company that it’s not. The leadership puts out a lot of diversity courses to employees that are “optional” and does nothing to demonstrate that they are serious about including highly qualified People of Color or Blacks into management or senior leadership. They dance and talk around the issues and then wonder why People of Color/Blacks leave the company.
Start packaging out the racist/bias leaders who have been with the company 20+ years and refuse to change, and still don’t have any women or People of Color as direct reports, such as Directors or Senior Managers.
Look at the high-performing People of Color at all levels and re-assess and level them in the right roles. Many high-performing individuals have been denied promotions.
Reorganize the leadership team and hire new leaders who believe in racial diversity and sponsoring top talent.
Include more diversity in HR and as recruiters. HR is a big problem, as they are friends with all the VPs and Directors and protect and enable racist/discrimination behavior.
Include a sponsorship program and clear career objectives, performance measurements for individuals/middle management who demonstrate the competency for upper leadership roles.

Initial interview with tech recruiter, then interview with the hiring manager, then interview with staff that I would be managing, then interview with the hiring manager's boss, then interview with staff from the internal customer.
